The Center for Academic Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer (CPATT) was established to foster business activity among students, doctoral students, and faculty members, and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between the university and the private sector.

Technology transfer is the practical application of solutions and research developed by universities. CPATT offers two-pronged support for technology transfer: both for scientists and researchers seeking opportunities to commercialise their research, and for businesses interested in implementing innovations.

Workshops and consultations

CPATT organises a wide range of training courses and workshops, offering opportunities for learning and self-improvement to various target groups. These include, amongst others:

  • Startupownia workshops aimed at undergraduates and PhD students interested in entrepreneurship and taking their first steps in business;
  • consultations and training on intellectual property protection and the commercialisation of research.

STARTOVA UMK sp. z.o.o. is a special-purpose company of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, established to support the commercialization of research and development projects. It is responsible for creating and launching university spin-offs with a strong scientific foundation, fostering entrepreneurship among researchers, and supporting them in every aspect of their business activities.
