Foreign languages
The University Centre for Foreign Languages of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń is a modern teaching unit whose mission is to develop the language competences of students, doctoral candidates, and university staff. The Centre offers a wide range of language courses at different proficiency levels, tailored to participants’ needs and the requirements of the modern labor market.
The offer includes courses in foreign languages such as English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Russian, as well as specialized courses focused on academic and professional language. UCJO also plays an important role in the internationalization of the University, supporting students in preparing for study abroad and international cooperation.
The Centre for Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń offers Polish language courses for international students, combining practical learning with an introduction to Polish culture.
In the Bydgoszcz part of the University, there are also centres for students of medical programs: the Centre for Specialised Languages in Medicine, responsible for language training, and the Centre for Medical Education in English, which organizes and supervises the teaching process in English-language programs.
Sports
The University Sports Centre of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń is a modern unit supporting the development of physical activity, a healthy lifestyle, and integration of the academic community. The USC has modernized sports infrastructure, including sports halls, gyms, sports fields, and recreational facilities. It also organizes sports events, tournaments, and competitions, promoting fair play and integration of the academic community.
An equivalent unit in the Bydgoszcz part of the University is the CM Centre for Physical Education and Sport, which conducts sports classes for students, supports sections of the University AZS Club in Bydgoszcz, and organizes winter and summer camps for students of Collegium Medicum.
Medicine
The Centre for Medical Simulation at Collegium Medicum, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Bydgoszcz, is a teaching unit aimed at improving the quality of education for future medical staff through the use of advanced simulation methods. The Centre enables students to acquire practical skills in conditions closely resembling real clinical practice, without risk to patients.
The Centre is equipped with high-quality medical simulators, mannequins, and specialised rooms replicating a hospital environment, such as operating theatres, intensive care units, and treatment rooms. Thanks to this, students can practice medical procedures, clinical decision-making, and teamwork in interdisciplinary settings. The Centre plays a key role in modern medical education, supporting the development of students’ professional competences and preparing them for responsible work in the healthcare system.
Lifelong Learning
Uniwersytet Otwarty is a unit of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, established to provide open-access education. Its remit is to organise courses, workshops, training programmes, and educational projects aimed at both individuals and institutions.
The unit’s activities include both face-to-face and online training in various fields – ranging from the humanities and social sciences to the natural sciences, technical disciplines, and the arts.
