Convallaria Copernicana

Convallaria Copernicana Statuette

The “Convallaria Copernicana” award is granted by the University Senate for outstanding contributions to science or exceptional service to the development of the University.

The name “Convallaria Copernicana”—Copernican Lily of the Valley—was proposed by Dr. Cecylia Iwaniszewska. The University’s patron holds this flower in his hand in several portraits. The statuette was created by art. rzeźb. prof. dr hab. Alicja Majewska, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Nicolaus Copernicus University.
