Pervaporation, vapor permeation and membrane distillation processes are relatively new membrane separation processes but already implemented in the industrial scale, with over 100 plants (pervaporation) and a number of engineering companies around the world offering industrial solutions. However, there are still various separation processes (e.g. in petrochemical industry) where these processes could be successfully applied.
