Information on the processing of personal data

  1. The controller of your personal data will be the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń with its registered office at ul. Gagarina 11, 87-100 Toruń (hereinafter the University or CPD).
  2. Your data is obtained in connection with a visit at the University:
    1. pursuant to art. 6.1(f) GDPR – legitimate interest of the CPD:
      for purposes arising from the University’s legitimate interests, such as:
      • registration of persons visiting the University,
      • settlement of stays of persons visiting the University.
    2. pursuant to art. 6.1 (c) GDPR – legal obligation:
      for purposes resulting from the provisions of Polish law, such as, for example, informing relevant state administration authorities about guests from abroad.
  3. You are entitled to rights which we shall exercise following your request to:
    1. access personal data and subject to legal provisions: the right to rectify personal data,
    2. erase or restrict data processing,
    3. object to data processing,
    4. transfer to another controller of personal data processed in IT systems.
  4. Providing personal data by you is voluntary, but necessary to implement the goals for which the data is collected. The refusal to provide personal data may result in your being prevented from visiting the University.
  5. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for the Protection of Personal Data.
  6. Your personal data may be made available to public administration entities, entities with whom the CPD cooperates for purposes related to the organization of a visit and stay.
  7. As on the date of collecting of your personal data, we do not plan to transfer the collected data outside the EEA (including the European Union, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland) without excluding such action in the future which you will be informed about in good time.
  8. In relation to you, there will be no activities involving making decisions in an automated manner, nor will they be subject to automated profiling.
