Guest lectures at the Faculty of Education

The Faculty of Education of the Nicolaus Copernicus University invites students and doctoral students to classes run by Prof. Sabahudin Hadžialić. Professor Sabahudin Hadžialić is staying at the Faculty of Education under the grant of the NCU Rector for foreign scientists.

The guest lecturer will run the "Social Media" module (6 ECTS points). The course examines why various forms of social media can be analyzed from the perspective of critical theory. The content of the course addresses the issue of the influence of social media on identity formation and the challenges facing the methodology of social media research.

The course is taught in English and takes place in room 394 at the seat of the Faculty of Education (ul. Lwowska 1; details: sabihadzi@gmail.com). Meeting dates are set up on a regular basis between the lecturer and students. Some classes will be carried out online. Registration is available through the USOS system (or after application in the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Education:  studped@umk.pl).

Professor Sabahudin Hadžialić was born in 1960 in Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today he lives in Sarajevo. He is a scientist, writer, poet, journalist and editor. Author of 24 books (poetry, prose, essays, as well as textbooks for universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad). His artistic and scientific work has been translated into 25 languages. His books have been published in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, France, Switzerland, USA, Italy, Poland, Lithuania and India. He participates in European Union projects and is a member of scientific councils of magazines in Poland, India and the USA. In addition, he is a regular publicist and essayist, since 2014 in the Eurasia Review. Since 2009, he has been a co-owner and editor-in-chief of DIOGEN pro culture - a magazine that deals with the issues of culture, art, education and science in the USA. He is a member of a large association of writers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, as well as foundations and associations around the world. As a professor he works at universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Lithuania and Poland. Professor Sabahudin Hadžialić has been cooperating with the Faculty of Education of the Nicolaus Copernicus University since 2016. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Journal of Cognitive Science New Media Education and a member of the Scientific Committee of the 15th International On-Line Conference "New Media - Interactivity - Creativity - Education".
