Rectors’ Lecture Series

Prof. Ken-ichi Yoshida from Kobe University will be the honorary speaker of the Rectors’ Lecture Series held in the Centre for Modern Interdisciplinary Technologies on Monday, 23rd October.

Professor of applied microbiology will give his lecture on Bio-Production in Kobe and a New Generation of Genome Editing at 12:00 in room B1.9. of the NCU Centre for Modern Interdisciplinary Technologies (ul. Wileńska 4). Admission is free.

The Rectors' Lecture Series is an initiative of the authorities of the Nicolaus Copernicus University which aims to invite eminent scientists from Poland and abroad. The first lecture was held on 12th May 2014, and was delivered by Prof. Michael Arbib, prominent American neurobiologist. Other guests of the cycle were: Prof. Eiichi Negischi, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (September 12, 2014), Prof. Jerzy Marian Brzezinski, psychologist from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (March 27, 2015), Prof. Maciej M. Mrugała, co-founder and head of the interdisciplinary Department of Neurooncology at the University of Washington Medical School in Seattle (June 11, 2015), Zbigniew Jagiełło, President of the Board of PKO Bank Polski (October 27, 2015), and dr Stanislaw Flasinski, molecular biologist from the USA (October 11, 2016).
