Spectacular rise of the NCU

The Nicolaus Copernicus University recorded a spectacular rise by 87 places in the Google Scholar Citations ranking. The NCU’s two repositories also took high places in the World Ranking Web of Repositories.

In the latest ranking compiled by the Cybermetrics Lab, the creator of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, the NCU with the sum of 69034 citations takes 758th place in the world (845th place last year). In the national ranking, the NCU maintained a high third position among Polish higher education schools.

The Warsaw University of Technology (693rd place with 82,947 citations leads in the national ranking followed by the University of Warsaw (671st place with 79,475 citations). Behind our University there are, among others: the Jagiellonian University (979. place with 46,695 citations), the University of Wrocław (983. place with 46,393 citations), the Poznań University of Technology (1101. place with 38,458 citations), and the AGH University of Science and Technology (1102. place with 32,794 citations

The NCU is the second university and third higher education school in Poland, after the University of Warsaw (589th place with 81,745 citations) and Warsaw University of Technology (693. place with 38,355 citations).

Harvard University leads in the Google Scholar Citations ranking with 1,734,533 citations.

The Google Scholar Citations ranking is based on only one criterion: the number of citations of scientific papers registered on individual Google Scholar profiles.

Two repositories of the Nicolaus Copernicus University maintained strong positions in the World Ranking Web of Repositories. The NCU Repository moved up by one place as compared to the previous edition of the ranking, and took 10th place in Poland. It is ahead of the Repository of Jagiellonian University (12th place in Poland) and e-Library of the University of Warsaw (18th). In the world ranking, the Nicolaus Copernicus Repository takes 876th place.

The Kujawsko-Pomorska Digital Library, which is coordinated by the Nicolaus Copernicus University Library, is 6th in the national ranking and 703rd in the World Ranking Web of Repositories. The Academic Repository of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is the highest classified Polish repository (276th place in the world).
