Description (field, expectations, comments):
The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) and the following qualification criteria:
* PhD degree in mathematics, conferred within 12 years before 1 January 2026. This period may be extended by a time of long-term (in excess of 90 days) documented sick leaves or rehabilitation leaves granted on account of being unfit to work. In addition, the period may be extended by the number of months of a childcare leave granted pursuant to the Labour Code and in the case of women, by 18 months for every child born or adopted, whichever manner of accounting for career breaks is preferable. We may accept applications from candidates prior to obtaining the PhD degree, but then employment follows the PhD degree.
* a track record in achievements in research (publications, conference talks etc.),
* research experience in dynamical systems, especially in the topics of translational flows and interval exchange translations,
* fluency in English, which enables international scientific cooperation.
The research position is offered within the framework of the implementation of the OPUS grant of the National Science Center 2025/57/B/ST1/00704 "Disjointness and ergodicity of locally Hamiltonian flows and their extensions", led by dr Przemysław Berk.
Conditions of employment:
* 24 months position,
* salary (gross) about 9 500 PLN per month,
* 36 days of holidays per year,
* no teaching duties.

Additional information: Application deadline: 15.05.2026. The contest will be adjudicated no later than 30.06.2026. Your expected employment will commence on 1.10.2026. The university does not provide accommodation. NCU declares the right not to choose any candidate.
