Description
East and Central European Studies as one of the fields of study offered at the NCU’s Faculty of Languages is coordinated by researchers and scholars whose academic research achievements are of the highest quality, which is directly transposed into the study programmes and course contents. The scholars, apart from academic teaching, are involved in both domestic and international research
projects and publish their research output in high-impact Polish and international journals. Contacts established through cooperation with Polish and foreign academic centers result in guest lectures given by scholars from other countries; the Faculty’s students are welcome to participate in these lectures. The study programme of East and Central European Studies is interdisciplinary and offers students opportunities to develop their general education in Humanities and Social Sciences. It also teaches
them how to be creative and how to acquire a variety of skills following most recent trends, at the same time focusing on the development of personal properties and social competences. The knowledge and skills acquired boost employability of the Faculty’s graduates at home and abroad. Owing to course contents, this study programme also contributes to increasing the cultural awareness and social sensitivity of students.
Additionally, students can demonstrate their proactive attitudes as well as research and culturally creative interests in a variety of students’ research associations that operate at the Faculty of Languages
