THE World University Rankings is one of the three most respected and widely commented on rankings of universities all around the world - next to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (i.e. The Shanghai ranking) and the QS World University Rankings.

The NCU and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Gdansk Gdańsk University of Technology, the University of Silesia and the University of Łódź are in the 800+ group. Our University took the third place among Polish universities in the category of "teaching" and fourth in terms of "international outlook" and "industry income". The University of Warsaw and the Warsaw University of Technology are the best Polish schools (position 501-600). The AGH University of Science and Technology and Jagiellonian University are in the 601-800 group.

Taking into account three elements of the mission of universities: education, science and knowledge transfer, the creators of the rankings evaluate higher education schools by five crucial criteria: teaching (learning environment), international outlook (staff, students and research), research (volume, income and reputation), citations (research influence),  and industry income (knowledge transfer). This year's lists includes  980 universities, representing 5% of all such institutions in the world.
