The NAWA “Ready to Study” on-site orientation course, organized by Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, will run from June 1 to 28, 2026, and will include approximately 120 hours of classes and activities:
- 15 hours per week of practical Polish language, including phonetics workshops and specialized vocabulary,
- 4 hours per week of classes on legal and living issues,
- 10 hours per week of lectures on Polish history and culture, museum tours, film screenings, individual consultations, and other team-building activities,
- one trip to Malbork.
Classes will be held at Collegium Maius, Fosa Staromiejska 3 in Toruń, with accommodation provided in UMK student dormitories. All activities are mandatory for NAWA scholarship recipients; a 10% absence rate is permitted.
The course, activities, accommodation, and meals are free of charge. Participants are responsible for covering their own travel expenses and the cost of mandatory medical insurance.
In accordance with NAWA guidelines, candidates intending to pursue studies in Poland are invited to participate in the course:
- high school seniors living outside Poland,
- high school graduates who received their high school diploma no earlier than 2023,
- students from foreign universities who plan to pursue a master’s degree or doctoral studies in Poland,
who are foreign nationals or hold dual citizenship (Polish and another country’s citizenship), for whom Polish is not their first language, and who have a command of Polish or English at least at the B1 level—which means that even those who are just beginning to learn Polish are welcome to join the course :-)
