Learn Poland - on-line course in Polish language and culture

The NAWA on-line language and culture course ‘Learn Poland’ organised by Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń will run from 16 March to 7 June 2026 (12 weeks) and will include approximately 100 hours of classes and activities:

  • 5 hours per week of practical Polish language lessons, including phonetic workshops,
  • 3 hours per week of lectures on Polish history and culture, museum lessons, film classes, individual language consultations and other integration activities,
  • trips (on-line).

Classes will be held on the MS Teams platform, so it is necessary to have a computer with a camera. All activities are compulsory for NAWA scholarship holders, with 10% absence allowed.

The course and activities are free of charge. 

In accordance with NAWA guidelines, the following are invited to participate in the course:

 

  • students & PhD students of foreign universities,
  • academic teachers of foreign universities,
  • students in their final years of secondary school,
  • secondary school graduates who received their secondary school leaving certificate no earlier than 2023,

who are foreigners or have dual citizenship (Polish and citizenship of another country), for whom Polish is not their first language, who are not studying, are not employed and do not live in Poland, and who speak Polish or English at a level of at least B1, which means that people who are just starting to learn Polish can also take part in the course :-)

Applications for the course will be accepted between 23 February and 12 March 2026. Those who submit the form are requested to send an opinion/reference letter from their home university to the following address: skjpo@umk.pl.
