Objective 1 - The impact of university activities on the development of world science and research cooperation with renowned universities

Detailed goals in terms of raising the quality of research activity and the quality of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University:

  1. increasing the the number of highly scored publications and the quality of research (especially publications in Q1 and Q2 journals from the Web of Science);
  2. increasing theacademic exchange (including medium-term internships) with the world's leading research centers;
  3. increasing the number of applications in prestigious grant competitions;
  4. popularization of team activities and competitions among the employees of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.

 




Objective 2 - Quality of education of students and doctoral students

Detailed goals in terms of raising the quality of research activity and the quality of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University:

  1. improving the quality of education of students and doctoral students, in particular in the fields of study and in research disciplines related to priority research areas (POB);
  2. inclusion of students and doctoral students in conducting research activities;
  3. effective competition for the most talented candidates for studies and for doctoral schools, also from abroad, by organizing summer schools, internships, dedicated scholarships, accreditations and academic partnerships with the best foreign universities;
  4. implementation of a project-oriented and mobility-oriented education system;
  5. doctoral schools with flexible organization of the studies and a strong focus on research.

 


Objective 3 - Professional development of employees and  quality of the university management

Detailed goals in terms of raising the quality of research and the quality of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University:

  1. preparation and implementation of comprehensive solutions for professional development of administrative staff and academic staff, in particular young researchers;
  2. establishment of an internal grant system addressed to employees outside the Centres of Excellence and Emerging Fields;
  3. well-defined professional duties and career paths in each position, facilitating the balanced professional development of university employees and improving the integrity of our University;
  4. improving the quality of university management, including pro-quality organizational changes, in order to develop the university as a whole;
  5. establishment of the university Think Tank and integrated offices: grant internationalization and human resources with agencies at the faculties;
  6. introduction of lean management system and implementation of electronic document circulation.

 


Objective 4 - innovation and cooperation with the socio-economic environment

Detailed goals in terms of raising the quality of research activity and the quality of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University:

  1. increasing innovation and cooperation with the socio-economic environment;
  2. initiating and supporting contacts between the university and business entities;
  3. taking full advantage of the university's potential to stimulate innovation and implementation in accordance with international standards;
  4. introduction of TRIZ training;
  5. promotion of business incubator among students and doctoral students through Startup Weekends and Hackatony
  6. expanding the role of the Academic Business Incubator  in promoting the importance of innovation at the university as well as the introduction and coordination of the university's cooperation policy with the business environment.
