If you are a visitor, resident or student in Poland and have a driving licence issued in the European Union, EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland), you are allowed to drive a car. Your licence remains valid on the Polish territory until the expiry date indicated in it.
The driver in Poland is obliged to have a driving licence and a third-party motor insurance (OC) purchased for a particular car. Furthermore, the vehicle must be equipped with a warning triangle, a high visibility vest, and a small fire extinguisher.

Traffic in Poland is on the right-hand side of the road.
Speed limits are measured in km/h (kilometres per hour) and are as follows:
-    built-up areas 50 km/h (5 am – 11 pm), 60 km/h (11 pm – 5 am)
-    outside built-up areas 90 km/h
-    single carriageway 110 km/h, dual carriageway 120 km/h
-    motorway 130 km/h

Using headlights in vehicles both night and day throughout the whole year is obligatory.
Seat belts must be used in both front and back seats.
Polish law requires special car safety seats for children up to the age of 12 and up to 150 cm tall.
It is prohibited in Polish law to use mobile phones while driving, however, you may use a loud-speaking phone system.
Legal alcohol limit is 0 promille (per mille).
Using radar-warning systems in your vehicles is illegal.
